How to Become a Christian

Admit - Admit to God that you are a sinner and need a Savior
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

Believe - Believe that Jesus death on the cross was in your place. Put your faith in His sacrifice for your sins.
"For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

Confess/Commit -
Confess and commit yourself to Jesus as Lord of your life. Acknowledge His sacrifice and commit to follow Him for the rest of your life.
"that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)

If you are making this commitment and are unsure how to pray to God here is a helpful suggestion.
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I cannot save myself. I need your sacrifice to pay for my sins. Forgive me. Send your Holy Spirit to come and live in me. Be my Lord and Savior. Amen.

Church Covenant

In the Spirit of love, we have banded together to comprise a local expression of a New Testament Church, which is a body of those on whom the call of God rests to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Because we believe that Jesus is the Christ, we will seek to bring every phase of our lives under His Lordship. We unreservedly and with abandon commit our lives and destiny to Christ, promising to give Him priority in all the affairs of life. We will seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Believing that we and all we own belong to God, we entrust to Him the material aspects of our lives. Because God gives to us, we shall be regular and cheerful in our gifts to Him and His church.

We commit ourselves to become informed, mature Christians through regular worship and Bible study, both public and private.

We commit ourselves to watch over one another in brotherly love, pray for each other, and aid one another in sickness and distress. We will seek to be Christ-led in all relations with others.

We recognize that the function of this Church is to glorify God in sacrificial service, and to be God's missionaries in the world, bearing witness to God's redeeming grace in Jesus Christ.

Since we belong to one body, we recognize the importance of regular attendance at its meetings, and support of its ministries. We, therefore, pledge to commit our time, our energies, and our resources to God and this Church.
